Augustinians at the United Nations

The Augustinian Order is an accredited Non-Governmental Organization (N. G. O.) at the United Nations.

The Augustinian presence at the U. N., known as Augustinians International, is an instrument for implementing values of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the international forum.

The Order's mission at the U. N. is to make ever more fruitful the common life witness it bears and the pastoral works promoting the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - education and literacy, economic and social development, and human rights, in accord with traditional Catholic social teaching.

Many global policies are formulated in the public forum that the U. N. provides. Augustinians International's accreditation by the U. N.'s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) allows the Order of St. Augustine to be consulted and have a voice in the development of agreements and policies affecting the entire world.

The current Augustinian Representative at the U. N. is Victor Gonzaga, O. S. A., of the Augustinian Province of Cebu (Philippines). Midwest Augustinian Robert F. Dueweke, O. S. A. served as the Augustinian Representative from 2016 to 2022.
