The Midwest Augustinians Say Farewell to Patrick Murphy

If you have been impressed with the changes in the communications presence of the Midwest Augustinians over the past seven years, the man you have to welcome in Patrick Murphy.

So it is with both sadness and gratitude that we now must say farewell.

This past January, Patrick completed nearly seven years of working with the Augustinians and has taken a new position as the Director of Development for the George M. Pullman Educational Foundation.  The foundation offers merit-based scholarships to college students with financial hardship.  Had it not been for the foundation's support, over 14,000 students, including some from Mendel Catholic and Saint Rita of Cascia High Schools, as well as Patrick himself, might not have been able to afford a higher education.

Patrick wished to share these last parting words:

In coming to walk on this journey with the Augustinians these past seven years, I have met some of the world's humblest priests and brothers that have served God and His people.  I have worked on some pretty incredible projects with the Augustinians:  renovating a website, launching an annual gala and capital campaign, chronicling the province's history in a book, celebrating the Feast of Augustine at Holy Name Cathedral, etc.  However, the most inspiring moments stemmed from getting to know some of the friendliest and most generous philanthropists--regardless of their financial means or walk of life--from Chicago to Canada to Chulucanas and everywhere in between.

The Midwest Province of the Order of Saint Augustine will remain forever grateful for Patrick's dedicated service, including his work in recruiting new vocations.
