Iquitos Soccer Tournament a Winning Success

On Saturday, January 18th, the Parish of Santo Cristo de Bagazan in Iquitos, Peru, hosted a thrilling soccer tournament, organized in collaboration with Fr. Walker Dávila Ríos, O.S.A. and Fr. Tony Pizzo, O.S.A., Prior Provincial. This twice-annual event brought together 12 men’s and women’s teams who each competed for the championship title.

The tournament was a festive showcase of talent and sportsmanship, with teams vying for the top spot. As part of the festivities, Fr. Tony delivered a welcome speech and kicked the ceremonial first kick of the tournament.

This soccer championship is held twice a year and serves as a fantastic way to foster community spirit and engagement in the parish community.
