St. Rita Parish Designated as Pilgrimage Site
Pope Francis has dedicated this year as the Jubilee Year 2025, and the St. Rita parish is honored to be a designated pilgrimage site in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
The parish held a special procession from St. Clare of Montefalco to Church to the St. Rita church at the beginning of January to celebrate the Jubilee.
This Jubilee has been offered by Pope Francis as a time to renew ourselves as “Pilgrims of Hope.” The Jubilee is typically celebrated every 25 years as the anniversary of the Incarnation of our Lord. It has origins in the Book of Leviticus as a time for reconciliation, pilgrimage, and coming home.
St. Rita of Cascia parish plans to welcome many visitors during this year of celebration.
