Cuidando a un Ser Querido

  • Santuario de Santa Rita 7740 South Western Avenue Chicago, IL, 60620 United States (map)

Do you care for someone living with Alzheimer’s or Dementia, or know someone who does?

You’re invited to a special evening of reflection, connection, and spiritual support for caregivers and families journeying through the realities of Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

This Spanish-language event is grounded in faith and compassion, offering:

  • Encouragement and resources for caregivers

  • A space to connect with others who understand the journey

  • A reflection on how charity and community sustain us in our vocation of care

Our evening will be led by Connie Saldivar and Lupita Vavalle, co-founders of Somos Ancla, a faith-rooted support group for caregivers and part of our Augustinian family.

Meet Our Presenters:

Connie Saldivar has served as a dedicated parishioner and volunteer at St. Clare of Montefalco for 36 years. She works as a mission coordinator with the Medical Missionaries of Mary and cares full-time for her husband, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 12 years ago. A trained tanatóloga, Connie brings both experience and deep spiritual insight to this ministry.

Lupita Vavalle is a Social Worker, Financial Coach, and passionate motivational speaker. As a co-founder of Somos Ancla, she brings energy, empathy, and encouragement to caregivers, helping them stay grounded in love and purpose.

This is a night to be lifted up—and to know you are not alone. Please see the invitation below and share it with a friend who could use a moment of hope.
