Rev. Francis X. Lawlor, O.S.A. (1917 - 2013)
This morning at Franciscan Village of Lemont, Illinois, the Rev. Francis X. Lawlor, O.S.A. passed away at the age of 95 following a long decline in health. Father Lawlor, born in 1917, professed his first vows in the Augustinian Order in 1937 at the age of 19. He served in parishes and schools in the dioceses of Chicago, St. Louis, and Rockford. Father was a strong advocate for the pro-life movement and also spearheaded campaigns against pornography.
Both the visitation and funeral Mass will be held at St. Rita of Cascia High School in Chicago on Saturday, November 9. Visitation will run from 8am-10am with the Mass to immediately follow. St. Rita is located at 7740 S. Western Avenue.
