Ambassador Francis Rooney Publishes New Book: Global Vatican

Francis Rooney, Augustinian Affiliate and retired U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican, recently published a new book, Global Vatican. The book illustrates the role of the Catholic Church throughout history, and particularly its diplomatic relations with foreign countries. The book provides both historical perspective as well as more current positions of the city-state.
Francis Rooney served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See under President George W. Bush from 2005-2008. His relationship with the Augustinians began by sending his three children to Cascia Hall Preparatory School and later became Chairman of the Board. Ambassador Rooney continued his relationship with the Augustinians in Rome through the former Prior General, Father Robert Prevost, O.S.A. Ambassador Rooney also became the major sponsor of the Augustinian Inaugural Gala in April of 2013.
