An Update from Sacred Heart's "RESTLESS" Ministry

Various people hand out water bottles and food in a garage.

"It feeds my heart and soul to help the less fortunate and we have to thank God for what we have."

Featured in our Winter Magazine, the RESTLESS ministry at Sacred Heart Parish, King City, ON, Canada, provides food, supplies, and support to people experiencing homelessness, uncertainty, and distress. Started during COVID-19 lockdowns, the ministry has since grown and continues to serve those in most need of help. The following are photos and testimonials from a recent outreach event.

A group of adult volunteers pose in a green field in front of a Cross, smiling at the camera.

"My four children and I had a humbling and eye-opening experience to see how the homeless people live. It was heart breaking and ironically beautiful because these kind souls were so thankful to receive the smallest token of love with food and toiletries."

"I knew I was there to serve others and I felt like this was something that God wanted me to do - to feed his children, my brothers and my sisters."

"Restless gives our Sacred Heart community the opportunity to truly participate in corporal works of mercy in a deep, meaningful, and personal way. It takes us outside of ourselves and brings us up close and personal to the harsh reality some of our brothers and sisters in Christ live in."

To get involved or support the ministry effort, monitor the parish bulletin and social media accounts or contact the Sacred Heart RESTLESS team leaders at restless. sacredheartparish@gmail.com. Additionally, contributions to Sacred Heart Parish, King City, ON, are welcomed.
