“A Christian is: a mind through which Christ thinks, a heart through which Christ loves, a voice through which Christ speaks, and a hand through which Christ helps.”
These words of St. Augustine, are instructive and supportive of our journey together in one mind and one heart this Easter season.
The celebration of the Resurrection, Easter Sunday 2023, gives us encouragement that having passed through this Lenten season, we are given the message of hope in the face of constant despair and discouragement.
Our world remains fractured due to threats that are either the result of human error or the disastrous effects of the natural order.
The resurrection opens up an array of possibilities toward transforming the scope of despair to a landscape of new hope. The disciples despaired at the crucifixion but then were energized with hope at seeing the risen Lord. This encouraged them to become a living testimony whereby death and despair do not triumph but rather become mere passageways leading out of the darkness of the tomb into the light of hope.
St. Augustine’s words give us a descriptive role in the Church. It is by his grace that we fulfill this responsibility. We are Christ’s collaborators on this journey…

Estas palabras de San Agustín son instructivas y de apoyo en nuestro viaje juntos en una mente y un corazón en esta temporada de Pascua.
La celebración de la Resurrección, El Domingo de Resurrección de 2023, nos da ánimo en que habiendo pasado este tiempo de Cuaresma, se nos da el mensaje de esperanza ante la desesperación y el desánimo constante.
Nuestro mundo permanece fracturado debido a las amenazas que son el resultado de errores humanos o los efectos desastrosos del orden natural.
La resurrección abre un abanico de posibilidades para transformar el ámbito de la desesperación en un paisaje de esperanza nueva. Los discípulos se desesperaron por la crucifixión, pero luego se llenaron de energía con la esperanza de ver al Señor resucitado. Esto los animó a convertirse en un testimonio vivo en el que la muerte y la desesperación no triunfan, sino que se convierten en meros pasadizos que llevan de las tinieblas del sepulcro a la luz de la esperanza.
Las palabras de San Agustín nos dan un papel descriptivo en la Iglesia. Es por su gracia que cumplimos esta responsabilidad. Somos colaboradores de Cristo en este camino…
