Augustinians Launch Sister Website
The Augustinians are proud to announce the launch of their second website for the Continuing Our Journey of Faith campaign: www.augustiniancampaign.org. The capital campaign is the Augustinians' first in over 20 years. The campaign effort, chaired by Milann H. Siegfried of Tulsa, Oklahoma, would help build the Augustinians' two trusts: The Fr. Ray Ryan, O.S.A. Trust for men in formation and vocations outreach, and The Journey of a Lifetime Trust for retired and infirm Augustinians.
Two Augustinians Ordained in Peru
On April 26, 2014, the Feast of Our Mother of Good Counsel, Bishop Dan Turley, O.S.A., ordained two Peruvian Augustinians. Carlos Chávez Rojas, O.S.A., was ordained to the priesthood and Segundo Sabino Pichén Cotrina, O.S.A., was ordained a deacon. These ordinations are particularly special, as they occurred during the Augustinians' 50th anniversary of missionary presence in Northern Peru.

On April 25, 2014, the Augustinians of the Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel honored three Augustinian priests as their honorees at their second gala: Fathers David L. Brecht, O.S.A., Ph.D., Bill Sullivan, O.S.A., and the late Father Jack Gavin, O.S.A. Each honoree received their own tribute book and tribute video that night. An Interview with the Prior Provincial
On December 19, 2013, the Midwest Augustinians re-elected the Very Rev. Bernard C. Scianna, O.S.A., Ph.D., to a second four-year term as Prior Provincial of the Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel. He will begin his second term in June of 2014. Augustinians of the Midwest are encouraged to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, March 21, 2014, with prayer, reflection, witness and action individually, in their communities and in their ministries. "Archaeological Remains of St. Augustine's North Africa" Video Online!
In 2000, Fr. David L. Brecht, O.S.A., an honoree of the 2014 Augustinian Gala, published a short documentary detailing an archaeological story of St. Augustine in North Africa. St. Augustine was the bishop of Hippo in present-day Algeria. Please view and share the video!
