On Wednesday, June 11, the Very Rev. Bernard C. Scianna, O.S.A., Ph.D., began his second four-year term as Prior Provincial.  Fr. The Augustinians recently concluded their 50th anniversary of missionary service to the Diocese of Chulucanas in Northern Peru.  The concluding jubilee celebrations included a priesthood ordination of one Peruvian Augustinian and one visit from the Apostolic Nuncio to Peru on behalf of Pope Francis.  See the photos now!

On April 26, 2014, the Feast of Our Mother of Good Counsel, Bishop Dan Turley, O.S.A., ordained two Peruvian Augustinians.  Carlos Chávez Rojas, O.S.A., was ordained to the priesthood and Segundo Sabino Pichén Cotrina, O.S.A., was ordained a deacon.  These ordinations are particularly special, as they occurred during the Augustinians' 50th anniversary of missionary presence in Northern Peru.

On December 19, 2013, the Midwest Augustinians re-elected the Very Rev. Bernard C. Scianna, O.S.A., Ph.D., to a second four-year term as Prior Provincial of the Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel.  He will begin his second term in June of 2014.  Read more for an interview with Fr. On Saturday, January 25, a total of ten Peruvian Augustinian novices professed their first vows.  The Very Rev. Fidel Alvarado, O.S.A., Regional Vicar of Peru, received the vows, as pictured in the Photo Gallery.  We congratulate these men and pray for their continued spiritual journey!

Every January, our missions have one annual assembly to discuss the future of the missions in Peru.  This year, the Augustinian missionaries and native Peruvians were able to break ground on the future St. Augustine High School in Peru.  Read this update from our Prior Provincial, Fr.
